What Makes CosMedix Different?
August 31, 2009 by topi · Leave a Comment
CosMedix skin care products are the answer to a healthy complexion without irritation. Our advanced cosmeceutical line works to enhance the physiology of the skin through the use of only the most purified, chirally correct and effective ingredients that are safe and beneficial for the skin. Know as the chirally correct pioneer, CosMedix is the choice dermatologists, physicians and aestheticians worldwide for enhanced treatment results.
Can you explain Chirality?
Chirality refers to the right-handed and left-handed molecules in our bodies and the ingredients applied to them. Ingredients that have been chirally corrected have been filtered to contain only molecules that positively interact with the skin. In addition to minimizing the risk of allergic or adverse reactions, studies have shown this process to produce ingredients up to four times more concentrated than those in conventional brands.
Because of the time and money required for chiral correction, most skin care brands opt of raw, achiral (known as racemic) ingredients. A blend of right- and left-handed molecules, these ingredients are often diluted by ineffectual, and occasionally harmful, molecules that can irritate the dermal membrane and weaken a formula. To make matters worse, many add chemical fragrances and preservatives that can cause further irritation and even allergic reaction.
The CosMedix Difference
In addition to being the market’s foremost chirally correct skin care brand, CosMedix is a plant-based, earth-friendly line, free of artificial colors, preservatives and fragrances. Our cutting-edge formulations boast the highest concentrations of active ingredients currently available to achieve maximum results with minimum downtime and discomfort. The chemistry may be complex, but the concept is simple: to give you the strongest, most effective tools to help your skin look and feel its healthiest.
CosMedix makes skin care products for all skin types and is well known for its peels done by trained estheticians.

August 30, 2009 by topi · Leave a Comment
It’s not easy to find out which sensitive skin care solutions work. This is because sensitive skin reacts adversely to some sensitive skin care products, which have ingredients that irritate your skin. Here is a guide to help you choose the sensitive skincare products and treatments that work for you.
1. Choose products from your experience in using them. Of the many facial skin care products you’ve tried, some irritated your skin and other have not. With some, acne breakouts came about, and some left stinging sensations all over. Stay away from those skin products. Unlike normal skin, ingredients in products as well an environmental conditions can elicit adverse reactions from sensitive skin. When you find a good toner or moisturiser, you may wish to stick with that.
2. Choose skincare products carefully. When you shop at pharmacy’s, inspect carefully the label so you’d know its intended for sensitive skin. Skincare products for sensitive skin usually have no irritants like perfumes and dyes.
3. Try your hand at organic skin care products. These products tend to work well on sensitive skin mostly because they lack chemicals processed into the lotion, toner, or exfoliant. You won’t get harsh irritants from these. Organic acne skincare and anti aging skincare products are on the rise because of the spreading knowledge of people about the effects of chemicals on our skins.
4. Try making your own natural skin care products. Oatmeal and eggs, if you didn’t’ know, are easy to find ingredients for natural homemade skin products. A good skin cleanser is one combining both ingredients. While oatmeal is a perfect cleanser and exfoliant, honey is a great skin moisturiser. You can beat the raw eggs in a small bowl, afterwards you can use the mixture as a face mask. It contains much Vitamin A, great for your skin.
Sensitive skin care involves a watchful eye over and good memory about the beauty skin care products you use. Try these tips – your sensitive skin will thank you.

We will now take a look at my top five cures for eczema. All of these cures are made from natural ingredients obtained from flowers, plants, herbs and food sources. These ingredients obtained from the natural world don’t contain any harmful ingredients which make them a great alternative.
Probiotics
Probiotics contain friendly bacteria which is essential for good digestive health. Taking antibiotics, exposure to pollution, poor nutrition and stress are all factors which can reduce the level of these beneficial bacteria. Even though the role of probiotics in preventing allergies remains unclear, studies have shown that they can protect against eczema. There are many yogurt products these days that contain friendly bacteria and is a cheap and easy way to take them. You can also take probiotics in the form of supplements.Foods that contain natural probiotics are fermented products such as tempeh, miso and sauerkraut.
Calendula
Calendula is commonly known as an English marigold and is a member of the daisy family. What makes this such a beautiful plant is its large yellow or orange flowers. Even though calendula has traditionally been used in the treatment of burns and abrasions, it is also used in inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema. The best way to take calendula is in tincture or cream form.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera contains many powerful and natural properties that help in boosting the immune system and repairing skin tissue which is why it is extremely beneficial for eczema sufferers. Aloe vera can be used topically in the form of a cream or lotion as well as internally as a drink. If you love having plants in your house, why not keep an aloe plant.By removing one of the lower leaves and cutting it in half along its length, you can obtain the inner gel and rub it directly over the affected area of skin.
Evening Primrose Oil

Which is the Best Stretch Mark Removal Cream
There are so many choices in stretch mark removal creams that it is often hard to make a wise decision. Your mother might recommend one, your doctor the other and your girlfriend yet another one. The important thing for you to do is to make a calculated decision and choose the stretch mark removal cream that is best suited for you.
It may even be a case of trying a few different brands and creams to find one that suits your individual skin type. But you might also luck out by hitting the jackpot the first time around. A good stretch mark cream will have the elements in it that make both your skin bind the tissue together and also allow it to stretch, these will normally be collagen and elastin. Amino acids along with soy proteins are other ingredients that you should look for when choosing a cream.
No Overnight Miracles
Stretch mark removal creams don’t happen overnight, just as losing weight or building muscle doesn’t. Look for a cream that is non greasy and doesn’t have any fragrance so that you can apply it more frequently under your clothes and no one will be the wiser.
A product with a risk free guarantee is another good thing to be looking for when choosing a cream. A refund on your product is part of the deal when you buy from a company that stands by it’s product. It is is this manner you can afford to try different creams and different brands without blowing the budget.
Generally most cases will get a good result with a stretch mark removal cream, it is not uncommon for people to fall in love with a product and give as gifts for future pregnancies and also baby showers.

Ways to Reduce and Prevent Stretch Marks from Pregnancy
August 28, 2009 by topi · Leave a Comment
Women who are pregnant are the targets of many scams and miraculous stretch mark skin care creams are the most popular. Although a little Vitamin E can be good for the skin, to expect that it will make all stretch marks vanish overnight is not logical. Regardless of what is applied, the skin will in all likelihood show scars of physical stretching that happens over a short period of time. The level of successful healing is dependent upon a person’s age, skin tone, heredity and diet.
The general cause of stretch marks is the stretching of the skin, increased cortisone production that undermines the skin’s elasticity and the disruption of collagen production. Typically, pregnancy or other weight gain causes the appearance of stretch marks. Nonetheless, other people may get these scars as well. These include body builders, growing teenagers, those taking Corticosteroids or those with a inherited disorder, such as Cushing’s syndrome, Marfan syndrome or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. People may be predisposed to these unsightly marks if they have dry skin, do not drink sufficient water, eat excess fatty foods, exercise too little or too much, take steroids, smoke or drink.
There is much debate about the best stretch mark removal treatment options ,since they are all said to be only partially effective. Topical stretch mark creams including Tretinoin cream (Renova, Retin A) are the least invasive treatments and can assist with new stretching caused by pregnancy. These creams rebuild collagen to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Fractional Photothermolysis and Pulsed Dye Laser Therapy are two treatments for new marks that stimulate collagen and elastin growth using wavelengths of light. Microdermabrasion is a process that is effective on older marks that you might have had for sometime. It works by buffing the surface of the skin with crystals. This polishing action takes away the upper layer of skin cells so as to stimulate new and more elastic skin growth. Excimer laser is another process designed for older white marks. It is said to promote output of melanin in order to reduce scar appearance.
Because ninety percent of women encounter pregnancy stretch marks of some sort, there is no need to lament or agonize your new body. Your husband will forever look at you as the mother of his children, which carries a very special meaning, no matter how your body has altered during these last nine months. On occasions, a couple of sessions of confidence counseling can do much more than some magic cream for preventing pregnancy stretch marks that might do little more than cost you money. Unless the scars stretch over large parts of your entire body, you need not worry about these innocuous marks. The best thing you can do is focus on weight loss, feeling rejuvenated and taking care of that warm, snuggly new child.

7 Essential Tips to a Healthy Skin
August 26, 2009 by topi · Leave a Comment
Beauty is always perceived by what is seen on the outside. It seems superficial, but it is the hard, cold truth. That is why we must always take care of our skin. Taking care of our skin not only means using beauty products. A simple skin care regimen can be achieved by a few lifestyle changes and developing some healthy habits. Here are some simple tips on how we can get that healthy and radiant skin.
1. Cigarette Smoking is Dangerous to Your Health.
Stop smoking!!! Smoking is very detrimental to your health and your skin. I can’t even count the ways on how smoking can kill you. It can give you cancer, heart diseases, stroke, emphysema, COPD, impotence, etc. Look closely at any long-time smoker and you can see the impact of smoking to their skin. It can give you premature aging. If you’re a smoker reading this, start kicking that bad habit out of your system before it’s too late.
2. Protect yourself from the sun.
Sun exposure can harm your skin seriously. It can cause dry skin, age spots, or even skin cancer. We can protect ourselves from the sun’s harmful rays by wearing sunscreen with atleast spf 15 sun protection.
3. Start eating healthy.
Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants that fight premature aging.
4. Drink 6 – 8 glasses of water.
Even famous people like Beyonce Knowles follow this advice. Fact is, water flushes out toxins from your body, cleansing it from the inside. Water can also give you’re a radiant, supple skin.
5. Get enough sleep.
Cell processes happen when we are sleeping. This is the time the cells repair themselves and rejuvenate themselves. Studies have shown that the body needs at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep gives us a tired, worn-looking appearance and dark circles under our eyes. It also gives us dull skin. So get enough sleep to rejuvenate your skin.
6. Clean your face before you sleep.
Cleanse your face free from make-up. I recommend using a make-up remover to thoroughly wipe off the make-up off your skin. Then wash your face. This will ensure that the harmful chemicals in your make-up will not be absorbed by your skin while you sleep.
7. Find a mild moisturizer.
Wash with a lukewarm water first. This will open your pores, thereby promoting better absorption of the moisturizer. Check the label of your creams to make sure there are no hamful elements contained in the cream. You can also try to use things you can find in your cupboard to make a beauty cream if you are not sure of what is in your cream’s component. And use a different eye cream apart from the face cream.

William Jarvis, former acting director of the hospital infections program at CDC — found that 34 of 1,000 patients had active MRSA infections, and 12 of 1,000 patients were colonized with MRSA, which amounts to an MRSA incidence rate of 46 per 1,000 patients.
